Intake Process: One Call—Then Leave The Rest To Us
The intake process begins with a single phone call, and encompasses the entire process of handling work related injuries such as panel development, scheduling appointments with panel physicians, coordination of medical treatment, and communication of medical and work status to the employer and/or insurance company of the injured worker.
How it works:
You or the employee contacts WorkWell's Injury Report Line at 1-800-662-2400, 24/7 to report a work related injury. From 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday - Friday EST, you or the employee can speak with a WorkWell Intake Coordinator.
The following information, if available, will be taken:
- Injured Employee Name
- Address
- Work Phone
- Date of Birth
- Social Security Number
- Occupation
- Date of Injury
- Treatment Received for this injury (if any)
- Type of Injury (back, neck, left arm, etc.)
If you or an employee calls outside of normal business hours, you will reach our reliable live answering service to obtain the above information. You will then receive a return phone call the next workday morning from a WorkWell Intake Coordinator to schedule an appointment with the panel physician.
Once the call is placed, an appointment is set with an appropriate panel physician. The injured employee is then assigned to a WorkWell Case Manager for "day one" case coordination (see Work Injury and Case Management). After the initial examination is complete, the treating physician will determine a diagnosis, treatment plan and will also address the work status of the injured employee.
All of this pertinent information is then communicated from your WorkWell Case Manager directly to the injured employee, the employer contact and any additional parties entitled to the information. If there is a need for any additional follow up care, including specialist referrals, diagnostics or physical therapy, the WorkWell Case Manager will coordinate all necessary treatment to ensure continuity of care for the injured employee. |
