Employment Physicals

Often it is an advantage to establish a medical baseline for employees at the start of their employment. By doing so it is easier gauge the employee's recovery progress after an injury. There are many different standards for post hire examinations; the most common is the DOT (Department of Transportation) standard.

The DOT exam is set for the by the federal government for transportation related jobs. It covers diseases of the major systems, hear, lung, kidney live, etc also vision and hearing.

Lastly, the DOT physical requires a drug test. The physical must be repeated every 24 months. Most employment physicals are based off of this standard. In some cases employees who work with hazardous chemicals, like heavy metals, will also need periodic physicals.

WorkWell can coordinate an employment physical program for your company using our network. Our goal is to simplify the process to insure compliance and convenience.
