WorkWell has always made every effort to protect the privacy of patients. Effective April 14, 2003, all healthcare providers were mandated to comply with an extensive set of privacy regulations as part of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

To prepare for these changes, WorkWell instituted various forms and procedures to assure our customers and patients that we continue to recognize the importance of keeping patients' protected health information private. Although we are a medical provider that treats work-related injuries and we must also follow the Workers' Compensation Law, we are still required to inform patients of how we use and disclose their protected health information.

WorkWell has a Privacy Officer who is responsible for ongoing staff education and training regarding privacy issues. We have checks and balances in place to assure us that we are always protecting the privacy of the individual patients as we conduct our day to day business.
